MILITARY 4-H CLUB GRANTS



National 4-H Headquarters, Army Child and Youth Services, and Air Force Family Member Programs collaboratively provide Military 4-H Grants to 43 states and territories to support 4-H clubs for military youth on Army and Air Force installations and in communities for youth of National Guard and Reserve families in AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, GU, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MS, MO, MT, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, WY. State 4-H Military Liaisons serve as project directors for Military 4-H Club Grants. These grants provide support to the 4-H staff responsible for chartering clubs, enrolling members, training club leaders, and integrating these clubs into the ongoing 4-H programs in the county and state.

 

More than 23,000 military youth learned new life skills and gained self confidence through their participatin in these Military 4-H Clubs in 2009. In addition, these grants provided 4-H training to 1,298 military staff in the past year.
